Lab Notes January 2025
Hey everyone! Here is what happened in the Lab to start off the New Year.
Hello and welcome to 2025! The Delisle Lab is already on to a great start to the year and are excited to give some updates.
Event/News information:
AYA Breast Cancer Info - Our group has partnered with Team Shan Breast Cancer Awareness for Young Women (Team Shan), a Canadian charity mandated to educate the public, health care professionals and AYA women about early detection, risk reduction and prevention of breast cancer (Team Shan). We would be grateful if you could please provide us with the contact information of healthcare professionals working at your clinic so we can disseminate the survey to them. Alternatively, we can send you the invitation that you can forward to the healthcare professionals at your clinic. (Please click here to see our poster!)
💡How You Can Help:
If you are interested in disseminating this survey, please email us at teamshan@gmail.com or Megan.Delisle@umanitoba.ca.
Stakeholder meeting - Please reach out if you want to be a part of our upcoming meeting!
Light it #Green for CCA - This is an event to raise awareness of Cholangiocarcinoma (CCA) as well as funds to support important precision oncology research and care right here in Manitoba. Our goal is to ensure that Manitobans affected by CCA and as well as all other cancers have access to community supports and personalized cancer care. CCA is a rare and aggressive bile duct cancer. There are no screening tools and the treatment options are limited and often ineffective. Precision oncology changes the landscape for patients with such cancers. Access to molecular testing, targeted drug therapies, and clinical trials here in Manitoba has the potential to offer patients less invasive treatments, less adverse side effects, life-prolonging therapies, and, most importantly, HOPE! If you are interested in attending, please contact either rauhausm@myumanitoba.ca or Megan.Delisle@umanitoba.ca.
